This blog site is used by my 5/6 grade literacy students. We integrate our literacy with our social studies learning so connections to our writings are connected to this site also. We use this blog to communicate our literacy and social studies experiences. It is our hope that it will be an interactive blog with relevant comments peer to peer and also family members, other educators, and/or interested people. Our blog will continue to change with our learning.

New School Year!
Our school year is off to a great start! We have been working on several reading strategies - monitoring comprehension, metacognition, thinking about "real reading" rather than "fake reading" and making reading salads! We have also been using our schema to make connections and looking for snapper (vocabulary) words...Whew! We have been busy. All of these strategies will help us become even better readers!
