The Bully Book- Cael

In my book, The Bully Book, there is a secret mystery about the "Grunt" and how to be popular. The First thing the main character must do is make a classroom grunt, witch is basically the dork of the class. Make fun of him, and deny everything. With lots of time, Eric becomes popular and makes his friends cool too.

The Boy Who Dared

In the book The Boy Who Dared a young boy named Helmuth Guddat Hubner starts as an 8 year old boy who is growing up in Germany in 1928, he is against the Nazis but he's to afraid to speak out. Then he has to join the Hitler youth group where is forced to worship Hitler when really he's against him 100%. As he grows he starts to express whats on his mind by reading illegal books and listening to an illegal radio. Until he gets an idea to express to the world whats on his mind, he gets his friend Rudi and Karl to get in on it and they make thousands of leaflets and spread them across their home town. Then the day came where someone snitched to the Gestapo about Helmuths revolution plan and they do a ravaging search of his house and come across the illegal items that he owns. Helmuth is taken to prison where is hit, kicked and bruised badly. The tree boys made a pack saying if one got arrested they wouldn't snitch on anyone but they broke Helmuth down and blurted out two names Rudi Wobbe and Karl-Heinz Schnibbe. Then there'll all under arrest. Then in court Karl and Rudi and sentenced to prison and Helmuth to death on October 27 1941.

The Road to Paris

      The Road to Paris is about a girl (Paris) and her brother (Malcom) and they have always been in the foster system. One family they had trapped them in a little closet in the dark for days, and finally they ran away from there home where they got abused. They went to their grandmas house and I think the grandma told someone in the foster system that Malcom and Paris shouldn't be together or something I still don't really know what happened, but someone came and took Malcom away from Paris. Her birth mom was an alcoholic so when she saw her foster mom and dad drinking, after everyone went to bed she went down stairs and poured out there beer. I am on page 70 and it seems to me that she likes her new home, she has 2 brothers, a sister, mom and dad, and a dog. I am inferring that something might happen with Paris and her new family that will make her want to run away but I could be wrong.

Blog of the Hunger Games

The book says that it is a story about Katniss Everdeen and Primrose Everdeen, but mostly Katniss. So if Katniss dies in the Hunger Games, then she will die, it's like someone that committed suicide, not really but extremely dangerous for kids that are age 5 or under. The book matters because the Katniss family would miss their own beloved sister/daughter. But she survived at the end. 

Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry

Something that just happened was that Mr. Granger and a Wallace came to see how mama was teaching because they said that they were here because " we heard your teaching was different ". And Mr Granger picked up a book and saw the pasted side then read something in it then he got mad because she wasn't teaching the right thing so he told her that and she said she wasn't teaching that because it wasn't right. The men got very angry and they fired her. She was very sad because teaching was a big part in her life and she wanted to be a teacher ever since she was little and her dad wanted her to too. But then her dad died and she was determined to teach but now she is out of a job and she is afraid they won't have enough money to support the kids.

A World Away- Abby L.

        In this book the girl wants her Rumingspringa. A Rumingspringa is when Amish people turn a certain age and get to experience the outside world. Eliza wants to go to Chicago to be a nanny for a American! Her parents don't want her to because they want her to be safe. Her mom said she would rather have Eliza be unhappy and safe then happy and in danger.

Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

In my book the family just had a guy come and they sighed a paper that said that the two sons now own the land instead of the grandma. But they are going through a hard time because they are going to Vicksburg and bringing things for the people in the town because they don't want people shopping at the Wallace store because the Wallaces are bad people and they have done bad things to colored people. They are also going through a hard time because Harlan Granger might actually have a chance a at buying the land but I think that the sons will make sure that won't happen.

Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

I am reading Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.  Mrs. Becicka has read aloud two other books by Mildred D. Taylor and I really liked them so I thought I would read another one by her.  This book so far has really explained how hard is was a long time ago when there was still segregation.  The kids in this family have gone through a lot.  Their dad is working on the railroad to get money for his family so he's never home, all of the white kids that ride the bus to school always make fun of the black kids that have to walk to school because the black school doesn't have enough money to have buses, even the bus driver splashes them with the water on the side of the road. The mom even has to go to a store far away from there house because the stores close to her house have horrible white people that won't serve them and get them the things they need.  So far I have really liked this book.

The Eleventh Plague

Right now in the eleventh plague Steven and Jenny the two main characters have ran away to live out life on their own leaving the Green's humble home and Steven's dad back at the town very ill and weak. And they pulled a prank on the enemy's base they lit fire crackers and threw them into the base. Steven is trying to sneak back into the Green's place without being noticed to check on his dad and get some books the school teacher Mr. Tuttle Gave him.

Defiance: Valerie Hobbs

Defiance is a book about this kid, and he has a hard time with life because of one thing: Cancer. In school, he gets bullied, picked on, weir looks, and he also gets made fun of because he has a bald head.
Mean while, he is riding his bike, and he found this mysterious old woman and her cow, and he wonders if they are okay. She says that she is fine but she needs help with her house and chores. Each night, he has to read the old woman poetry and help her with house work.
He thinks she is fine, but one day, the old woman's daughters come, and they want her to leave the house she lives in. Together they fight to stay in.. but the next day, he finally sees the stuff the old woman's kids were thinking. He doesn't know weather to keep working or to quit.

Sugar

Sugar was in slavery and just got out of it, her dad was sold when she was little and she is only ten. Sugar and her mom kept it a secret that Sugar's mom was sick in slavery, this was because if there master knew he would have sold her mom. Sugar's mom died when they got out of slavery and her dad never came back. She now has no family and her family's garden was taken away when her mom died, she now has to do choirs for the Mr and Mrs. Beale. Sugar trades them work for food, so she does not have a lot of time to play, she does not have any friends because her only friend moved when they became free.

Seer of Shadows

Right now in my book there are police and they think that Mr. Middleditch burnt down the building but Horace thinks he saw Elonora burn down the building. But Mr. Middleditch has left to boston to leave Horace to take care of everything. Horace is very worried and overwhelmed. That's were I left off.

Artmesis Fowl

              So far in my book Artemis has almost achieved his goal. All he needs is a fairy ritual.

              A caiptian fairy Holly Short has just saved humans from a troll. Sadly she was saw.

               Needs her magic back and needs a ritual for that. Hmm what will Artmesis do.

The Eleventh Plague

In the start of the book the main character Steven and his dad are traveling through the 2/3 infected United States when they see an unidentified air craft then they start to investigate. When they do they find some supplies that will help them during their travel like food water until a loud rapid gun fire sounds. And army troops start to come out of the nearest forest. Then a wagon pulls up gets Steven and his dad inside and out runs the troops then they take them to a secret neighborhood where they stay.

The book I am reading is Seer of Shadows it is about a kid named Horace and he wants to be a photographer so he is working for what he thought was a rich photographer but turned out to be kind of poor. Right now they are taking a special picture of a very rich women and her daughter just died of what she said was a fever. But a slave girl that is a house worker for this rich women said that the daughter died because she was getting sick and they didn't want to take her to the doctor and they didn't help her at all. So the women wants a photo of herself so she can put it on her daughter's grave. But the mother thinks the daughter is a ghost. So Mr. Middleditch (the guuy that Horace works for) thinks he will get more money if he somehow puts a ghost of the daughter in the photo. So he came up with a way. Horace is going to go and take a photo of a photo of the daughter. But Horace feels horrible about what he is going to do because they are going to trick the rich women and put the photo that Horace took and put that in the photo of the women so it looks like the ghost of the daughter is in the house and then they will get more money because they will charge higher prices.

The part that i am at is the boy, Horace was going around the house and got 3 pictures of the dead daughter and he was in one of the upstairs rooms taking a secret picture when the slave girl walked into that same room. He hid the camera really quick in his jacket and she didn't see him take the picture. She said that he shouldn't be in this room and he asked why and then she let it all spill. She told him that she was a foster kid and the rich women and the rich man was her foster parents so that meant she was the dead daughter's sister. She told Horace that after the daughter died she spoke to her heart and told that she died of rejection from her parents. The slave girl said that her and her sister were really close and the dead daughter's best times were in her room (which was the room next to the room that Horace was in when she found him) talking to the slave girl.

Right now they are at the rich ladies house and they are showing her the picture they took of her. But the night before they game they took one of the pictures that Horace took  of the dead daughter and edited into the picture of the rich women. She looked at the picture and notice the her daughter in the back and is very astonished and Mr. Middleditch won't admit that he see's the daughter too so then she will think that she hallucinating. But while she is looking at the picture Horace thinks he see's a ghost of the daughter in the room but then she disappears.

Horace is going to meet the slave girl right now because he told her about the ghost that he saw when Mr. Middleditch gave the picture with the ghost girl in the background that wasn't real and was just edited to look like she as real to the rich woman. But Horace snuck out to go to the rich women's house to meet the slave girl while Mr. Middleditch is out celebrating about how the rich women likes the picture and wants another. When Horace got to the house there was a lot of pedestrians walking around the house and that's were I left off.
